Aujourd'hui je vous dévoile une toute première illustration qui fera partie de notre livre jeunesse, j'ai pris énormément de plaisir à lui donner vie. Et forcément ça me fait quelque chose de la partager avec vous, cela rend le tout encore plus concret.

Mais revenons en arrière pendant quelques minutes :

Début 2024, en Janvier plus précisément, nous avons commencé le long processus de création de notre album jeunesse.

Nous nous sommes tout d'abord mises d'accord sur l'ambiance que nous souhaitions pour ce livre, mais aussi sur les choses que nous ne souhaitions pas. Nous sommes très vite tombées d'accord sur le fait qu'il fallait absolument que notre livre prenne place en Automne et plus particulièrement pendant la période d'Halloween.

Victoria s'est alors lancée dans la phase d'écriture en premier (mais ça elle vous en parlera un peu plus sur son compte @victoriamaypurple ).

Ensuite, une fois que j'ai pu découvrir son texte, il m'a fallu tout imaginer : à quoi allaient ressembler les différents personnages, de quelle façon je souhaitais mettre en place l'histoire à travers mes illustrations, les couleurs,... ce fut un long et passionnant travail de création !

Mais pour en revenir à cette illustration en particulier, c'est une partie assez importante dans l'histoire : puisque c'est la toute première fois que le lecteur apercevra le papi d'Elliot. Il m'a donc fallu incorporer plusieurs détails mentionnés dans le texte, tout en y ajoutant quelques touches personnelles : des choses qui viennent complémenter les mots de Victoria.

Cette illustration m'est venue très rapidement : que ce soit le décor mais aussi les couleurs, c'était comme une évidence.

J'espère qu'elle vous donnera envie d'en savoir un peu plus sur Elliot, le petit fantôme, à travers notre livre.

For this illustration, I wanted to create something a bit more “moody.”

I’ve read quite a lot of books since the beginning of 2025, and one of my favourite plot involves a young woman (a nanny) who arrives at an old English house to take care of the children in the family. Soon, strange things start happening, and, of course, she quickly discovers that the house is haunted. That’s why I added a ghost in the second slide (my love for horror stories had to show up in at least one illustration, but since I know many of you don’t like horror stories, I don’t think I made it too scary > she doesn’t seem mean, right?).
